About Us
Homespun Furniture has had its roots in the furniture business for over 80 years when "Granddad Belusa" took his bride, an accomplished drapery seamstress, and together brought the furniture building trade from Germany to America . As a master upholsterer, his eye for detail was acute, making him an admiral instructor later for his son-in-law, Sam Snider, founder of Homespun Furniture. Sam's vision exceeded upholstery and custom building, expanding into all aspects of furniture. With his wife Irma by his side, an interior designer and also an accomplished seamstress in her own right, they set up a business that has operated for almost 60 years. At the helm today is his son Ron, to whom Sam proudly passed his skills making him one of Michigan's only certified Master Upholsters. Alongside Ron is his wife Lynn, sister Karen and husband Gary, co-principals of Homespun. Ron's creative spirit spins off well beyond upholstery and is exhibited in many highly visible projects. Karen followed in her mother's footsteps leading the interior design staff in the various exciting new projects. Today in Homespun you will see fine craftsmen still hard at work building or upholstering, seamstresses still sewing, draperies still being fabricated, but the list now extends well beyond that to cover most any interior needs, both commercially and residentially. The showroom proudly displays thousands of fabric choices to meet the need of any client. Of course its friendly staff is there to quickly find the perfect choice. The furniture department has a mixture ranging from contemporary to the very traditional. If it isn't found on the sales floor, the library of offerings is extensive and an eager, knowledgeable staff will soon help you find your desire. Stepping into the flooring department one is greeted by a wide offering of carpeting, tile, wood, ceramic, vinyls and area rugs. From there to the wallpaper, drapery, accessories, and lighting. There are enough offerings to delight any homeowner. Design service is always available, or select on your own. For our Internet shopper, we are happy to provide and ship your product to meet your need. Another branch at Homespun is the commercial division. Here the
client can source anything from a home office to the largest of
corporate panel offerings. Homespun's staff of design professionals
can space plan a project, develop a color theme and show product
that is most suited to its application and budget constraints. A
full turnkey operation is available upon request. From corporate
